RJ’s mom’s initials are included as a special tribute to her lifelong love of frogs. Sadly, RJ lost her mom in 2022. Writing her first book has not only fulfilled a lifelong dream, but it has also been a meaningful part of RJ’s healing journey.
Meet Grub

Grub’s character was inspired by someone very special ...RJ’s niece, who RJ lovingly calls Grub.

When she was born, she looked like a tiny little grub or worm, all swaddled up and cozy. That sweet nickname inspired the lovable Grub character in the Bub and Friends series.
The Real-Life Bub

The real-life Bub is a Redbone Coonhound and Boxer mix who weighs about 80 pounds — but he has an even bigger heart.

Some of Bub’s favorite things include belly rubs, chin scratches, adventures with RJ, and spending time together. His loving personality and gentle spirit inspired the Bub character in the Bub and Friends series.
